Rosa Parks died today, aged 92. I have read the news story about this but I confess I was shamefully unaware that the lady who sat on the bus and refused to give up her seat so many years ago in Montgomery had a name.
In a world where bad things happen, where war is still headline news, this ladies courage and conviction should be a timely reminder to us of true heroism. To be persecuted, in your own country, for the colour of your skin makes a mockery of the supposed Christian values of the people carrying it out, is disgraceful and the contribution of people like Rosa Parks should never be underestimated.
